Casa Musica, Cala Morell

Cala Morell, close to the beautiful and lively ancient city of Ciutadella, is an ideal get-away-from-it-all location for the family seeking calm, unhurried pace combined with a not-too-far-off the beaten track location.

Casa Musica, an attractive air-conditioned villa situated on a large plot in a countryfied area, offers the perfect base. It is a 20-minute walk from the villa to Cala Morell’s small beach and surrounding bar/restaurants, and less than 15 minutes by car into the centre of the city should you want to step up the pace a little!

The villa sits on a substantial, sixth-of-an-acre plot with no adjoining neighbours, and is on a very lightly trafficked cul de sac. The accommodation all on one level, ideal for those with walking difficulties or small children. The main door leads into the very large open-plan living/dining room/kitchen, which has patio doors opening out on to the terrace. The stylish kitchen has fitted units with marble-topped work surfaces, built-in electric oven/hob and microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and high quality crockery, cutlery and utensils with juicer, coffee machine and other equipment. The beautiful large dining table and chairs seat 10. There is a separate preparation area with another fridge.

Separated from the kitchen by the dining table is the living area with a curved Italian cream leather sofa, separate seating area and a 55in 4K LG Smart TV with FreeSat channels, Apple TV* and Netflix* availability, as well as local Spanish channels. There is also a DVD/BluRay player, plus high-speed internet wifi access (*subscription required to view streaming services).

To the left and rear of the villa are a twin bedroom with separate wet shower room and a double bedroom with ensuite wet room. To the right of the villa are the other bedrooms: one twin sharing a family bathroom and the master king with ensuite wet room. All bedrooms are modern, air-conditioned and comfortably furnished with bedside tables, lamps, wardrobes and drawers.

The location of bedrooms and bathrooms at opposite ends of the villa means that two families can share in privacy, with a bathroom for each bedroom, and ‘meet-in-the-middle’ communal area.

Outside is a beautiful mares stone sunbathing terrace which has four steps down from the villa and is furnished with loungers and table/chairs, plus a large built-in barbecue with preparation area and dining table covered by a shade-providing pergola. The 9x4m pool, which can on request be equipped with an American-style pool safety fence, has roman steps at the shallow end.

Steps lead up from the side of the villa to a huge and completely private roof terrace which has lovely sea views and plenty of space for sunbathing.

To the rear of the villa is a large gravelled Mediterranean garden planted with palms and local shrubs. This is a lovely place to relax, surrounded by countryside views and pine trees. There are lots of areas for children to play happily and safely, and there is a table-tennis table.

In the morning there is great shade from the trees and in the afternoon plenty of shade on the patio outside the big sliding doors above the terrace. There is shade all day under the large veranda. At night it is incredibly quiet and peaceful, with almost no man-made reflected lighting, so you can see an almost black sky with dazzling stars.

This villa is a treasured second home which will delight guests who value comfort in their holiday villa. Cala Morell is a very exclusive area which is popular due to its close proximity to Ciutadella. There are many lovely beaches close by, including Algariens, one of the most beautiful on the island. This area has been declared a nature Area of Special Interest and is a well worth a visit. Because of its rural location a hire car is a must at this villa.
