Villa description

Villa Binizulema is a traditional Menorcan villa is set in a large private plot on a cul de sac in the popular family resort of Binibeca and is ideally situated for a relaxing family holiday with the beach, shops and restaurants of Cala Torret a 10-minute walk away.

Set in pretty gardens, entrance to the villa is via the living/dining room comfortably furnished with sofa, chairs, glass-topped coffee table and extending dining table (to seat eight). There is wifi internet access and IPTV channels are available. Off the sitting/dining room is a compact and well equipped kitchen with full cooker, halogen hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. A door leads out to a covered drying area with washing machine and tumble dryer, and from here there is access to the patio/dining area with built-in seating and a large purpose built barbecue.

The interior hallway gives access to three of the bedrooms: one double and two twins, all with fully built-in wardrobes and ceiling fans. There are two bathrooms, one full and one shower room with wc. The fourth bedroom is in the annexe and provides ideal accommodation for grandparents, a nanny, teenagers or parents with a baby. It has twin beds, a ceiling fan, a large pine wardrobe and an ensuite shower room with wc. This villa has a built-in safe.

French doors lead from the sitting/dining room out on to the covered terrace with table and chairs and the pretty gardens. There is an 8x4m swimming pool (shallow-end depth 1.1m) with Roman steps as well as underwater lighting; there is also extensive outdoor lighting right around the villa. There are ample sun loungers, parasols and an outdoor shower. Steps lead up to a roof terrace with views down to the sea.

Binizulema is an eco-friendly villa – all resort amenities are within walking distance and no hire car is necessary. The property does not have air-conditioning.

It was better than we could have imagined: clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped with four good sized bedrooms and three bathrooms. There was loads of outdoor seating and eating areas, a private pool, regularly cleaned, and a small but handy roof terrace, with sea views. It was a great place to sit in the evening with a cold glass of something to watch the sun go down. Although there were other villas about we were not aware of them and we had the privacy we wanted. It is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with easy access to the supermarket, bakers and restaurants only seven minutes away and only 10 minutes from a lovely sandy beach

What a lovely time we had in Menorca and how much we liked the villa! It was just right for the eight of us, and with the mix of adults and teenagers, the number of bathrooms to bedrooms was absolutely fine. We loved Binibeca and found it very peaceful and civilised, and having hired a car were able to visit quite a number of other parts of the island

About Binibeca

Binibeca is one of the most popular family resorts on Menorca’s south-east coast (the other being nearby Punta Prima) and, thanks to the lack of hotels and apartment complexes, it has a very ‘residential’ feel and a lot of villa accommodation along the coastal road and back up into the gentle hills behind. Binibeca beach is situated towards the eastern end of the resort and is a lovely sandy spot for families, with safe bathing for small ones, sunbeds for hire and a charming beach bar. At the furthest east of Binibeca is Cala Torret, a small village of whitewashed cottages surrounding the rocky coast and a popular boating slipway. There is a supermarket, a lovely café-cum-bakery and a number of bars and restaurants including Bar Paupa, right at the water’s edge. There’s a children’s playground here also, and a busy dive centre, and there are tennis courts nearby. If you walk westwards from Cala Torret, past the beach, you will come across a few distractions in the form of bars and restaurants, and a supermarket, before reaching the Binibeca Vell end of town, where you will find the ‘fishermen’s village’, built nearly 50 years ago, with its narrow, winding streets, whitewashed homes, supermarket and several lively bars and restaurants. From Cala Torret to Binibeca Vell is approximately 1.5km, or a gentle 15-minute stroll along the relatively level coastal road. There is a ‘road train’ during the summer months which plies between Binibeca and Punta Prima, and there is a regular bus service between the resort and the nearby towns of Sant Lluis and Mahon
