This stunning five-bedroom villa enjoys one of the most envied positions in all of Menorca: right on the waterfront in Cala Llonga, overlooking magisterial Mahon harbour. The Far Post enjoys a highly privileged situation with its garden leading right down to the water’s edge

The two-storey property features five bedrooms – three equipped with double beds and two with twin singles – and is fully air-conditioned. There is a huge open-plan living and dining area, a covered terrace offering gorgeous views, and a private 8x5m swimming pool

The bedrooms

The extremely generous master bedroom suite is on the upper level of the house, with an ensuite bathroom, dressing area, and private terrace with beautiful views of the harbour. There is a large sofa in the master bedroom facing the picture windows, as well as a TV.

There are two further bedrooms on the upper level: a double with Juliet balcony, fitted wardrobes and an ensuite shower room, and a twin bedroom, again with Juliet balcony, fitted wardrobes and an ensuite shower room.

Downstairs there are two twin bedrooms, each equipped with two single beds, fitted wardrobes and French windows to the gardens. These bedrooms share a separate shower room

Reception area and dining

Sumptuously decorated and furnished, the extremely comfortable (approximately 11x6m) living room offers comfortable seating and stunning views, as well as a large teak dining table and French doors out on to the beautiful covered terrace with its comfy settees, loungers and outdoor dining area with Weber gas barbecue

The kitchen

Designed and equipped with entertaining very much in mind, the kitchen is located just off the main living/dining space and is equipped with fan oven and induction hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker and a microwave oven. The tap water is filtered. A separate utility room houses the washing machine and dryer, a further fridge-freezer and an ice machine

Pool and gardens

From the covered terrace area one descends (via a low gate) into the gardens and the private swimming pool terrace. The pool is 8x5m with roman-step access and there is a sunbathing terrace facing the waterfront. Please note that both the swimming pool and the southern property boundary (which runs about 2m up from the foreshore) are unfenced – clients will need to supervise children and vulnerable adults accordingly.

There is off-street parking, underfloor central heating and air-conditioning throughout the property

Location details

Cala Llonga is a residential area (with some amenities) and you very much need a car here. Equipped with wheels you can be on the beach in five minutes, sitting at a fine harbourside restaurant in 10 minutes, or soaking up some culture at the historic La Mola fort in less than five minutes.

Cala Llonga boasts one of the island’s largest marinas, choc full of pleasure craft, and down by the water’s edge there’s a children’s playground. There’s also a hotel, the Calallonga Hotel Menorca, which has a bar and restaurant open to non-residents and which offers take-away food.

The nearest beach is the wonderfully unspoilt Sa Mesquida, just the other side of the main road and beyond the quaint fishing village of Mesquida. On the way there you will pass the superb clifftop fish restaurant Cap Roig, which is the closest eatery. From Mesquida you can pick up the Cami de Cavalls, the walking path which encircles the island’s magnificent coastline.

Fifteen minutes by car is the Es Grau nature reserve, with its wide horseshoe-shaped beach and shallow waters, not to mention its beachside café culture.

Mahon harbour is 10 minutes away by car, or it can be reached by the excellent Water Taxi Menorca. Home to superyachts, dozens of excellent bars and restaurants, a nightclub and even a casino. From here the bustling centre of Mahon’s old town is accessible by cliffside elevator. The island’s airport (and its nearby cluster of supermarkets) is an easy drive of 15-20 minutes.
