Villa Ancla in Binibeca
4 aircon bedrooms – sleeps 8 – 12x6m private pool – wifi – close beach & amenities
Ancla is a traditional Menorquin four-bedroom, four-bathroom villa and has probably one of the best locations in Binibeca. It enjoys spectacular sea views from the landscaped gardens and terraces and is set in a double plot of in excess 2000m at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. It is just a few hundred metres from the sea, bars, restaurants, shops and Binibeca’s lovely family-friendly beach.
The property offers relaxed and spacious accommodation along with complete privacy. It has the added benefit of wifi internet access.
The main entrance door of the villa opens into a small hallway, and immediately in front is the L-shaped living/dining room. It is furnished with two sofas, lounge chair, coffee table, and a dining table and chairs. There is a TV with internet channels and DVD player, as well as a Bose SoundDock. Large double patio doors open from the living room on to the huge covered outside terrace which has roll-up/down windy/wet weather transparent screens – ideal for still sitting outside if the weather is inclement.
To the right of the entrance hall area is a bedroom furnished with two single beds, double fitted wardrobes and airconditioning. Off this bedroom is an ensuite with a small bath with integral seat plus wall mounted shower attachment and sliding glass shower doors.
Straight ahead to the right of the entrance hall, and accessed via an arch, is a corridor leading to two more bedrooms: a master bedroom with king-size bed, air-conditioning, fitted wardrobes, bedside tables and lamps. A good sized fully tiled ensuite is off the bedroom, comprising full-size bath with sliding shower doors, shower attachment, toilet, bidet and wash basin set in a vanity unit with large mirror above.
At the end of this corridor is a further air-conditioned bedroom with two single beds, wardrobes, bedside tables and lamps
Also off this corridor is a fully tiled family bathroom, with WC, bath with sliding shower doors and shower attachment, wash basin in a vanity unit, mirror and bidet.
To the immediate left of the entrance is the small well equipped kitchen with fitted pine units, electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster, coffee-maker. Beyond the kitchen is a large utility room with a range of storage cupboards, and also the washing machine and separate tumble dryer.
Also from this end of the kitchen is access to the fourth bedroom, furnished with a double bed, air-conditioning, large wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps. This also has an ensuite with half-bath, sliding shower doors, shower attachment, WC, wash basin in vanity, and bidet.
The exterior of this traditional Menorquin villa is very pretty. There is an 80sq m covered terrace with a wooden dining table and chairs and a gas BBQ, as well as a table tennis table. Spectacular panoramic views to the rugged coastline of Cala Torret, Binibeca can be enjoyed from here.
Several steps from the raised terrace lead down to the landscaped and extensive lawned gardens. Surrounding the pool is a terrace constructed with natural mares tiles. It has ample room for the sunbeds, parasols and drinks tables. The terrace surrounds the 12x6m swimming pool with roman step access. Traditional Menorcan rustic olive fencing surrounds two sides of the pool.
This villa is a great location for a wonderfully relaxed family holiday. Please note that the bathrooms are a little old fashioned though perfectly functional and usable.

Many thanks for organising our stay; also thanks to the owner for the use of the property – we could see that this was a family home. It was our first visit to Menorca and Binibeca suited us well. The villa is in a prime location with the wonderful views to the sea. It has a very large garden which attracts loads of different birds. The consensus was that we would all like to return to Menorca at some time and explore more of this beautiful island
We had the most wonderful month’s holiday at Villa Bini Ancla. Travel Menorca is a superb travel agent with the personal touch and we could not praise them high enough. The same goes for their management company on the island. We received exemplary service from them
Binibeca is one of the most popular family resorts on Menorca’s south-east coast (the other being nearby Punta Prima) and, thanks to the lack of hotels and apartment complexes, it has a very ‘residential’ feel and a lot of villa accommodation along the coastal road and back up into the gentle hills behind. Binibeca beach is situated towards the eastern end of the resort and is a lovely sandy spot for families, with safe bathing for small ones, sunbeds for hire and a charming beach bar. At the furthest east of Binibeca is Cala Torret, a small village of whitewashed cottages surrounding the rocky coast and a popular boating slipway. There is a supermarket, a lovely café-cum-bakery and a number of bars and restaurants including Bar Paupa, right at the water’s edge. There’s a children’s playground here also, and a busy dive centre, and there are tennis courts nearby. If you walk westwards from Cala Torret, past the beach, you will come across a few distractions in the form of bars and restaurants, and a supermarket, before reaching the Binibeca Vell end of town, where you will find the ‘fishermen’s village’, built nearly 50 years ago, with its narrow, winding streets, whitewashed homes, supermarket and several lively bars and restaurants. From Cala Torret to Binibeca Vell is approximately 1.5km, or a gentle 15-minute stroll along the relatively level coastal road. There is a ‘road train’ during the summer months which plies between Binibeca and Punta Prima, and there is a regular bus service between the resort and the nearby towns of Sant Lluis and Mahon
